“The Championship is still open,” says the red-black commander, who is looking ahead to the next round of the Brasileirão.

After a 1-0 victory over Ipatinga last night at Maracanã, the red-and-black team jumped three places in the standings and returned to the top four in the Brazilian Championship. Caio Júnior's team had been unable to secure a spot in the top four since the 16th round. With 4 points and in fourth place, the red-and-black coach says the dream of a sixth championship remains alive.

"We're still contenders for the Brazilian Championship title. Anything is still possible. The next round has classics and matches between direct rivals. Grêmio drew and will now play a Gre-Nal. Everything is up for grabs. All the teams in the top group, the top eight, have a chance. Everyone will fight for the title until the end. The championship is interesting because of this. The fight for the title and also for spots in the Libertadores will be very good."

Caio Júnior celebrated the three points won in the victory over Ipatinga, but admitted that the red-black team performed below expectations.

"Getting three points is always the first goal in every game. But the match could have been better if we'd capitalized on the opportunities we created at the start of each half. We missed a lot of goals. The first half was practically attack versus defense, and Ipatinga defended well. We'll correct the mistakes we made against Ipatinga this week. I'm still searching for the ideal attacking duo, and little by little we'll put everything together."
