After training this afternoon at CT Ninho do Urubu, coach Caio Júnior stated his confidence in the red-and-black team's recovery in this Brazilian Championship. According to the coach, the group deserves the fans' trust.

"We're going through a performance crisis. What I want to convey to the fans is that we're getting stronger. I'm sure we'll bounce back and resume that great campaign in this Brasileirão. Our team already showed last year that it deserves the fans' trust. We have to be strong and motivate the players. The fans can rest assured."

Caio Júnior says that Flamengo's squad is very strong psychologically and will not let themselves be discouraged by their sixth consecutive winless match.

"It's a group that handles crises and defeats very well. It's a strong squad with a lot of internal strength. The fans can believe in it, because we'll bounce back."

The red-black commander confirmed that he is having difficulty finding a link man for the midfield.

"I was criticized for fielding five defensive midfielders against Cruzeiro, but I've been trying to find the best way for the team to play. I have to admit that I'm having trouble finding a link-up man to create plays. I'm working to find a creative solution with the players we have here. The board is working to bring in good names for the midfield and two more players for the attack."

Even with a streak of six games without a win, Caio Júnior said that the work is being done well and that Flamengo remains in the fight for the Brazilian title.

With an eye on Wednesday's match against Goiás at Serra Dourada, the red-black coach has already confirmed Vandinho in the starting attack.
