Caio Júnior considers Fla-Flu essential

Coach believes in a close match on Sunday.

Coach Caio Júnior described Sunday's Fla-Flu match as a crucial match for the red-and-blacks. He believes a victory over their rivals would leave the Gávea team in a comfortable position in the standings.

- "I consider this game to be fundamental because it can leave us in a very good position in the table."

Even with the strong possibility of Fluminense entering with a reserve team, Caio Júnior believes it will be a difficult game for Flamengo.

- "For us, the three points are worth the same. Fluminense reacted well against Sport and could have drawn. The press and fans may think it's easier, but the reality is different and we know that well."

Caio Junior recalled the match against Santos in the first round of the Brazilian Championship. According to the coach, Flamengo should adopt the same approach.

- "We experienced this situation with Santos (facing the reserves) and had an exemplary performance. We respect Santos, but we sought victory and achieved it. Now it's the same thing. If we hadn't played with the starters, we would have been well represented in the same way, and that's what will happen with Fluminense. In a classic like this, what matters is the shirt and the history that will be made."
