According to the coach, the red-and-black team is in the group that will fight for a spot in the Libertadores and the 2008 Brasileirão title.

"The relegation zone, the mid-table, and who will fight for the Libertadores and the title have begun to be decided. And we're in that group that will fight for the Libertadores and the title. For Caio Júnior, Flamengo's new reinforcements will be essential in this fight for the sixth Brasileirão title.
