Caio Júnior with his eye on the Brazilian Championship
“We have started to define the relegation zone, the middle of the table and who will fight for the Libertadores and the title” - said the coach.
By Flamengo Archive - inAfter this morning's training session at Gávea, coach Caio Júnior stated that the Brazilian Championship is entering a decisive phase, with only 14 rounds remaining. According to the coach, the red-and-black team is in the group that will fight for a spot in the Libertadores and the 2008 Brasileirão title.
"The relegation zone, the mid-table, and who will fight for the Libertadores and the title have begun to be decided. And we're in that group that will fight for the Libertadores and the title. There are 14 games. We didn't know how to take advantage of the schedule in the first round, but we will know how to take advantage of it now."
For Caio Júnior, Flamengo's new reinforcements will be essential in this fight for the sixth Brasileirão title.
"We've dropped in performance due to players leaving and also because our opponents have become familiar with our style of play. This has had an impact on seven or eight rounds. The new development is that in recent rounds we've had new players who are deciding matches when they start or when they come on in the second half," the coach celebrated.
