With an eye on Sunday's match against Vasco at Maracanã, Flamengo coach Caio Júnior said he expects a closely contested match between the teams. According to the Flamengo manager, the rival team is riding high after its victory over Sport.

"Vasco is motivated after the rout over Sport. Furthermore, the new management has given them renewed energy. They have good players on the field. Edmundo is a disruptive player with his quality passing. Morais, Leandro Amaral, and Jean are also very dangerous and fast. It's going to be a great game, with a full house and the fans who benefit from it."

Caio Júnior hasn't confirmed the red-and-black team for Sunday's match. Kleberson and Toró, injured, and Jailton, suspended, are ruled out. Cristian, Léo Moura, and Ibson are back in the lineup.

"We have good players to fill in for those missing. Jônatas, Erick Flores, Airton, and Dininho are great options. We'll study Vasco and then build the team around them."

Regarding the episode in Minas Gerais, Caio Júnior said he was disappointed with athletes Bruno, Diego Tardelli, Marcinho and Paulo Victor, but stated that the case served to unite the group even more.

"I was disappointed. They were released because they were going to meet their families. When I found out, it was a huge disappointment because I trusted them. The cast was very demanding of those involved. We spoke as a group and expressed our opinions. Disciplinary action has already been taken, and our group is even stronger and more united."
