Caio Júnior wants the team to focus on the next games
Flamengo faces Botafogo, Palmeiras and Cruzeiro in the next rounds.
By Flamengo Archive - inAfter a 2-2 draw with Portuguesa last night at Canindé Stadium, Flamengo reached 27 points and maintained its lead in the Brazilian Championship. The fans are now turning their attention to Grêmio, which faces Figueirense tonight and could overtake the red-and-black team with a win in Florianópolis.
Coach Caio Júnior stated that the Flamengo squad's attention is focused on the team's upcoming challenges in the Brasileirão. On Sunday, against Botafogo, the Flamengo manager expects a very even match.
-"There are no favorites in a classic. It makes no difference who is better at the moment. What matters is the emotional state, the calmness when it comes to scoring the goal."
Caio Júnior believes that the next matches, against Botafogo, Palmeiras and Cruzeiro, will be decisive in keeping the red-black team in the fight for the national title.
"These are very important games for the standings. Botafogo is improving, while Palmeiras is a very tough team to beat at home. Against Cruzeiro, it will be a six-point game because they are close to us in the standings."
