Caio Júnior tests three options in a collective
Airton and Vandinho are leading the race for a spot. Sambueza is running out.
By Flamengo Archive - inThe Flamengo squad returned this Thursday afternoon, at Ninho do Urubu, for the first tactical training session of the week, aiming to prepare for Sunday's game against São Paulo, at Morumbi.
In the training session, the surprise was the presence of midfielder Airton among the starters. In the first part of the activity, Caio Júnior started Flamengo with: Diego; Léo Moura, Fábio Luciano, Ronaldo Angelim and Luizinho; Jailton, Airton, Ibson and Kleberson; Everton and Marcelinho Paraíba. The reserves played with: Marcelo Lomba; Dininho, Leonardo and Tiago Sales; Christian, Toró, Jônatas, Sambueza and Maxi; Josiel and Obina.
In training, the reserves took the lead with a goal from Josiel, following a beautiful pass from Sambueza. Caio Júnior decided to make changes to the lineup, bringing on striker Vandinho for Airton. The reserves scored two more goals in the first half, with Obina and Toró. For the second half of the training session, Caio Júnior took off Luizinho and put Everton on the left wing, giving the Argentine Sambueza an opportunity in midfield. With this formation, the starters reduced the deficit with a goal from Marcelinho Paraíba.
For midfielder Kleberson, the important thing is to take the positives and negatives from the activity.
"It's difficult to analyze the team. It's not the same as the game. We have to take the positives and learn from our mistakes. We'll be ready for Sunday's game."
Goalkeeper Bruno, still recovering from shoulder pain, was spared from training. Left-back Juan, who played for the Brazilian national team yesterday, simply walked laps around the field.
