Caixa announces R$25 million sponsorship proposal for Flamengo

On Tuesday (19.01), Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF) announced to Flamengo a sponsorship proposal worth R$25 million. President Eduardo Bandeira de Mello was in Brasília to finalize a draft contract with CEF for the 2016 football season, already approved by the federal bank and the club's executive areas, which should soon be submitted for consideration by Flamengo's board members.
The ceremony, which took place at the Planalto Palace, was also attended by the President of the Republic, Dilma Rousseff, and the president of CEF, Miriam Belchior (photo).
A key player in the fight for PROFUT approval, Rubro-Negro maintained its brand linked to that of Caixa, a government entity aligned with the law that aims to bring greater professionalization, modernization, and optimization to the management of national teams.
"Caixa is a popular and responsible bank, characteristics in common with Flamengo. Wherever you go in Brazil, you'll find a Caixa branch and a majority of Flamengo fans, who deeply value the good causes we champion," said Bandeira de Mello, who also stated that the club is eyeing new contracts. "We have advanced negotiations with several companies and are defining deals that are beneficial to both parties," he declared.
The PROFUT initiative also allowed the resumption of a women's soccer team at several clubs in the country, and Flamengo is one of them. This Wednesday (January 20.01), the red-and-black team debuts in the Brasileirão of the category, which also receives support from Caixa, against Vitória-PE, at the Gávea headquarters.
