The expression on his face and sweat-soaked number 34 jersey after the matches against Grêmio Prudente and Fluminense demonstrate Guilherme Camacho's dedication in his first two matches as a starter for Flamengo's first team. Exhausted after both matches, the player believes he's doing his part and hopes to be retained in the first team for the next few rounds.

At 20 years old, Guilherme already has the 2009 Brazilian title under his belt, having played in 10 matches during that campaign. However, the midfielder didn't start in any of them. This 2010 season, he only played in the friendly against Brasília FC and a few youth team matches. Needing a little more match fitness, he knows he can still improve physically, despite the feeling of accomplishment.

"It gives me a sense of accomplishment, yes, but I'm training to run a lot and not be so tired. Being able to run the whole game and leave the field in one piece is crucial, and I know I have to work hard to improve that. I believe I've already improved from the first game to this one, and with a run of games, that's bound to improve," the midfielder assured.

Coach Rogério Lourenço, who worked with Camacho in the youth teams, is expected to name the team that will face Grêmio on Saturday at Maracanã this Friday. Still unsure whether he will be retained in the first team, Guilherme says he is ready if chosen to start.

"I think I did well in those games. I came in feeling calm and was able to play my football. But there's a lot of room for improvement. You can never be satisfied with anything; you always have to improve. But I'm confident, and if Rogério chooses me, I'm ready to play," he concluded.
