The Guanabara Cup is a thing of the past for Flamengo. After this morning's recreational training session at Gávea Stadium, defender Fabio Luciano raised the flag of responsibility that all players must bear in tomorrow's match against Cienciano at Maracanã. For the Flamengo captain, the team will now face its toughest challenge of the 2008 season.

"Now we begin our biggest challenge, the Libertadores. We've seen their team play and know they have quality. We fought hard last year to qualify for the competition, and we have to fight to do well. Our squad is quality, and everyone is important, whether starting as a starter, coming on mid-match, or even for ten minutes, as Tardelli did," analyzed Fabio Luciano.

The red-black captain downplayed the statements made by Cienciano coach Franco Navarro, who said he was not afraid of the pressure of playing at Maracanã.

"I respect his opinion, but I've seen a lot of people say they weren't afraid to play at Maracanã and then they were surprised. We'll see what he thinks after the match," he commented.
