A leader on and off the field, captain Fábio Luciano is counting on the Flamengo fans for Wednesday's match against Vitória at Barradão Stadium. The Gávea number 3 says Flamengo fans are always present when the team plays in the Northeast.

"This is what playing for Flamengo is all about. The fans are always behind the team. I'm sure it won't be any different on Wednesday. We hope the fans show up at Barradão. The Northeast always brings us a pleasant surprise. Their affection is impressive. It will certainly help us in our fight for victory."

Fábio Luciano hopes the team can repeat the excellent performance they had in the last round, when they beat Coritiba 5-0 at Maracanã.

"We have to repeat what we did against Coritiba. We know it will be different, as it's very difficult to face Vitória at Barradão. But we have to impose our rhythm. Flamengo has already proven they can play away from home, and we're going for the win."
