For someone who's won titles wherever he's played and, at 32, could have already called it quits, participating in another preseason with such dedication comes as a surprise to many. For defender Fabio Luciano, however, his commitment before the championship begins is seen as crucial to future success. An example to the entire red-and-black squad, the captain can already see progress in the work being done at Granja Comary.

"This group has been together for a while, and the newcomers are already acclimating as well. It's too early to compare Cuca's work with that of other coaches, especially since we don't yet know what the tactical formation will be. But he's certainly won over the group, and everyone here feels good about his presence. I hope we have a very successful year together," said Fabio Luciano.

As a role model among the players, the Flamengo captain is also concerned about the adaptation of the players who arrived this year. Fabio has been talking extensively with defender Douglas, defensive midfielder Wilians, and right-back Everton Silva to emphasize the importance of defending Flamengo.

"Those who have arrived have shown good character, and everyone has been warmly welcomed. We talk a lot and try to convey a little of what it means to be here. There will always be a fight for positions, but always fair, and it's up to the coach to determine who is best suited to join."
