Flamengo's senior team hosted Canto do Rio on the evening of last Friday (May 29th), at the Hélio Mauricio Gymnasium, for the first match of the Carioca Championship quarterfinals and won 9-1, in a game without many fouls or cards.

With four goals from Diego, the team's current top scorer, three goals from Henrique, one from Paulinho, and one from Leco, the red-and-black team managed to maintain their rhythm, conceding only one goal, scored by Pedro, number 4 of the opposing team.

Flamengo will not play this week and will continue training for the return match against Canto do Rio, which will take place on June 9th in Niterói.

The Flamengo team, led by coach Cid Escarlate, is very confident and will give it their all to secure qualification for the next phase.
