"The team that started the game set a good pace, especially considering they're a mature team that's undefeated this season. Any result other than today's victory would be unfair. I'm very pleased with the win. Vinicius came on very well, was decisive, and contradicted those who criticize him. While many think he should play on the left, I disagree. He should be on the right to dribble and attack. He's fighting. I consider him a starter, a 12th player," Carpegiani assessed.
"At no point did we stop trying to win the game. We dominated, created a lot of chances, and didn't score. The penalty in the first half was very clear; for the second time, we were seriously disadvantaged by the refereeing in the first half," he added.
Diego Alves also commented on the match, analyzing the comeback. "It's a day to praise the good work done and talk about how we performed. All the players know the pressure on and off the field, and today we accepted that and achieved a great result. We showed we wanted the win from the start. We made a very serious mistake against us, and the referee apologized. It's been two games like this. We want nothing more than to win these matches," he analyzed.
Flamengo returns to the field next Sunday (18), at 16 pm, when it faces Portuguesa at the Kléber Andrade stadium, in Cariacica (ES). The match is valid for the Rio Cup.
