The race for titles in the youth teams is in full swing. Flamengo's youth team is competing in the traditional OPG Tournament, and after a stellar 3-1 victory against Cabofriense in Cabo Frio, with goals from Diego Oliveira (2) and Pedro Beda, the team from Gávea stumbled in the final round, losing 2-1 to Nova Iguaçu. Vinícius Colombiano scored the Flamengo goal from a penalty kick. 

Flamengo is in second place, and in the next round will face São Cristóvão, Wednesday (08/10), at 13 pm, in search of leadership of its group.

Flamengo's youth team is trying to retain its Carioca Championship title. The red-and-black team drew 1-1 with Artsul in the last round. Flamengo's goal was scored by Michel. Fourth in the standings, the Gávea team hosts Vasco da Gama on Saturday at 13 p.m. in a match valid for the final round of the Championship. The team is fighting to qualify for the top four and needs a win to avoid relying on other results. If there's a draw, Flamengo will have to hope for Nova Iguaçu to beat Friburguense.

In the Campeonato Carioca Infantil, the club is coming off a 2-0 victory over Artsul. The red-and-black team has already qualified for the next stage and plays the final game of the second stage on Saturday.

In the Mirim category, after a great first phase, in which they won 1 of 11 games, Flamengo visited Fluminense in Xerém and drew 12-0. On Friday (0/12), the red-and-black team faces Artsul at 10:9 am at the opponent's home. In fourth place, the game is valid for the first round of the return leg of the Campeonato Carioca.
