CBF releases basic table for the 2018 Brazilian Championship

Flamengo debuts away against Vitória, date yet to be announced

Flamengo ended the 2017 Brazilian Championship against Vitória. Flamengo will begin the 2018 Brazilian Championship against Vitória. The Brazilian Football Confederation released the basic schedule for the competition on Monday, with the matches defined, but without the dates and locations confirmed.

Flamengo will likely make its debut in Bahia, against the local red-and-black team. The match against Vitória has not yet been confirmed, but the venue and date have already been confirmed. According to the schedule, it could be on April 14th, 15th, or 16th (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, respectively).

World cup

Due to the World Cup in Russia, the Brazilian Championship will be suspended on June 14th, resuming only on July 06th. Flamengo's last game before the break will be against Palmeiras, away from home. The return match will be another derby against a São Paulo rival, this time São Paulo.

The championship will conclude on December 02nd, and unlike the last edition, Flamengo will finish its journey at home, against Atlético-PR. Broadcast details, specific locations, and dates will be announced by the CBF in the coming days.
