Certainty of a difficult match in Minas
Flamengo hasn't beaten Cruzeiro since 2007 and players predict a tough game at Parque do Sabiá

Cruzeiro is not an easy opponent to face. Flamengo's recent record against Raposa proves this. Since 2007, when they beat the Minas Gerais team 3-1 at Maracanã with a strong performance, Flamengo hasn't beaten the team from Minas Gerais. Since that September 12th, there have been five more matches between the two teams, with Cruzeiro winning five. Therefore, Flamengo's players know they won't have an easy time this Wednesday (September 01.09st) in Uberlândia.
"They're a very tough opponent. They're a strong team, with the same squad for a while now, and we know the challenges we'll face. However, we're in a difficult situation and need a win to give us peace of mind before we get back to work in the Brasileirão," said defender Ronaldo Angelim.
Midfielder Correa, who played for Atlético-MG, Cruzeiro's biggest rival, at the start of the season, knows the opponent well and warns that the match should be very difficult. However, he's confident of a positive result.
"It's a great team, with a foundation built some time ago, with quality players, well-equipped, well-trained... It's going to be a great game, and we need to be alert. But this is Flamengo, too. We're not coming off positive results, we respect our opponent, but we know our strength, and when the game starts, we'll go head-to-head to try and rebuild," explained the number 7, whose words were reinforced by defender Jean.
"They're a tough team to beat. They'll be playing at home, even though it's not at Mineirão, and it'll be tough. But we need to play our football, neutralize their strengths, and try to give our all to get the result. We have to prepare well; we have little training time, but we're aware of what we'll face there and we want to win the game," he noted.
