Firmly in the fight for the Brazilian Championship title, Flamengo remains focused on the derby against Fluminense, part of the 29th round of the national competition. On the eve of the match against their Rio de Janeiro rival, goalkeeper César gave a press conference at Ninho do Urubu and previewed the matchup that will take place at Maracanã.
"What we can expect is a great game. The Fluminense team is qualified and is coming off a good result, as are we. We'll go after the result, and it will be a great game. We've been working hard to get these points that we've been longing for."
Rubro-Negro is coming off a strong result against Corinthians in the last round and had a week to prepare for the match against Fluminense. The goalkeeper also highlighted the importance of the time spent working with Dorival Júnior.
"It's always good to have a full week to work and for the coach to work on some things with our team. He's an excellent coach and is helping us. We hope the work fits well for these last few games we have. These are decisive ones, and we hope we play well.
"I prefer to always evaluate as a team. We performed well in the last two games. We knew it would be difficult against Bahia, we went looking for the win and in the end we came back with a draw. It was the same against Corinthians. It was inside the Arena, but we managed to play a great game and get the win. We will work hard and always respect all the clubs. In this final stretch, everyone is aiming for great things in the Championship. There will be no more easy games," he concluded, remembering the two games under the new manager.
The Nation will once again fill the stands at Maracanã to support the Most Beloved and César highlighted the strength that comes from the red-black fans.
"It's great to know that we'll have a packed stadium again, as has been the case for all our home games. Our fans are what sets us apart. We'll always count on them to achieve positive results, and this game will be no different."

Replace Diego Alves
In our profession, we understand that things can happen this way, and that's why we have to always be prepared, whether playing or waiting our turn. My job goes beyond the games; we have to help the team perform in training as well. I've learned this, and it's helping me face challenges more naturally.
Game sequence
The first game is the most important, always the next one. This one against Fluminense is the one we've been focusing on completely. It's a decisive game, and we've been treating it as a challenge since the beginning of the week. After this game, we'll focus on Paraná, which, despite being last, has quality. Let's focus on Fluminense now.
2009 Start
It was a very significant run, and it's still in the fans' memories. These are different moments, different eras. We understand, and we'll take it game by game. There's certainly a chance of being champion, and we'll pursue it until the end. We'll go to every game. Until then, many things can happen, and we're prepared for them all. I hope that, just like in 2009, we can be champions.
