On Saturday morning (18.07), the club agreed to sign Cesar Henrique Martins, who signed on loan until June 30, 2016. The 22-year-old defender was at Benfica, in Portugal, and arrives to further qualify the squad. The official presentation to the press will be next Tuesday (21.07), after training.

The athlete landed in Rio de Janeiro and went straight to the hotel where the delegation is staying. There, he was introduced to his new teammates.

"I'm happy with this opportunity to play for the biggest club in Brazil. I'm here to be available and help out. Flamengo has great players and a lot of tradition. It's a great pleasure to wear this shirt," said Cesar.

Cesar was born and raised at Atlético Sorocaba and excelled at Ponte Preta before being traded to Benfica. In Portugal, he played last season and won the Portuguese League, League Cup, and Super Cup.
