The athlete, who arrived at Flamengo in 2009 on loan from Sendas, made his professional debut in 2012, after having great prominence in winning the São Paulo Junior Football Cup the previous year – just like the Ninho Kids, who took the third championship last MondayIn his first professional game, the young goalkeeper made some impressive saves against Cruzeiro, then the early Brazilian champions, and immediately won the nation's affection. Speaking to Flamengo's official website, Cesar recalled this as one of the most memorable moments of his career.
"It was an unforgettable day for me. I was so anxious, from the moment I gathered until the game started. I remember every moment very well. When the game started, with every save I made, every play I made, the fans chanted my name. It's a story that will stay with me for the rest of my life," he recalled.
