Flamengo's squad returned to training on Wednesday afternoon at the Ninho do Urubu Training Center in Vargem Grande. Caio Júnior organized the first collective training session of the week to prepare for Saturday's match against Sport at Maracanã.

In the activity, the professionals faced the youth team, coached by Adílio. Caio Júnior maintained the lineup that faced São Paulo and Ipatinga, with: Bruno; Léo Moura, Fábio Luciano, Ronaldo Angelim, and Juan; Jailton, Ibson, Kleberson, and Everton; Marcelinho Paraíba and Josiel. The youth players took the field with: Diego; Henrique, Wellington, and Lucas; Daividson, Wellington Peca, Vinicius Colombiano, Renan, and Diogo; Vander and Bruno Paulo.

The training session was quite lively, with the red-and-black kids showing plenty of personality. One of the standouts, left-footed Renan, opened the scoring for the juniors with a beautiful shot from the edge of the box. Another player who put in a good performance was youngster Vander, who showed great speed and skill.

After just 10 minutes of training, the starters began to dominate the match. Diego, the only professional on the youth team, worked wonders on the field, preventing goals from Josiel, Everton, Juan, and Marcelinho. In one of these close calls, Juan was awarded a penalty. Marcelinho Paraíba kicked wide. Applying intense pressure, the starters equalized through Kleberson. The five-time champion stole the ball in midfield, dribbled past Vinicius Colombiano, and fired a powerful shot, leaving Diego with no chance.

After the training, Caio Júnior made an assessment of the activity.

"We created a lot of scoring chances, but we were lacking in finishing and Diego's excellent performance. It was a great training session. The team is very well coached by Adílio and has many young players with a future. They did what I asked, playing deep, making our job difficult. I think it was a good test."

Before the main training session, the reserves and some juniors played a strong training session, which ended in a 3-3 draw. Obina, twice, and Fernando scored for the red team. Sambueza, Vandinho, and Toró scored for the yellow team.

Ronaldo Fenômeno also trained at the training center in Vargem Grande. The striker, who is recovering at Flamengo, had his first training session at Ninho do Urubu.
