Flamengo dominates and scores two goals in the first half
As in the other matches at Ilha do Urubu, Flamengo pressed and tried to create dangerous plays from the start. The first good opportunity came in the 11th minute, when Everton crossed, Guerrero controlled, and Trauco sent a shot wide of the post.
Better in the match, Mais Querido had another great opportunity when, in the 12th minute, Everton received a great cross from Everton Ribeiro and headed, but the ball went wide.
In the 32nd minute, Diego threatened again when he took a shot from outside the box, scaring goalkeeper Renan Ribeiro. Shortly after, Guerrero controlled the ball just outside the box and was fouled. The number 9 called for the ball and, with a beautiful free kick, scored the first goal for Mais Querido.
Flamengo wanted more, and they got it. In a great collective play, Guerrero delivered a great pass to Everton Ribeiro, who provided a spectacular assist for Diego, who fired a phenomenal finish into the net and scored Flamengo's second goal, galvanizing the nation on Ilha do Urubu.
Game control and guaranteed victory
The second half began with a very evenly balanced performance. With beautiful attacking plays, Flamengo continued to threaten goalkeeper Renan Ribeiro and seek their third goal of the match. In the 12th minute, Pará dribbled past his marker on the right and passed to Guerrero, who sped past Everton Ribeiro, who found Everton on the left. The number 22 prepared and unleashed a powerful shot that the opposing goalkeeper saved.
In the 20th minute, Flamengo had a great opportunity when Berrío, who had just come on for Everton Ribeiro, passed the ball at speed to Guerrero, who sent a fine shot to Diego, who saved it. Guerrero tried twice on the rebound, but the defense cleared it.
The Mais Querido still had good opportunities with its main attackers, but the São Paulo defense managed to hold off the red-and-blacks' attempts. With that, Flamengo finished the match with three more points and two great goals at Ilha do Urubu.
