With love for Flamengo, Guilherme says he's ready.
The 18-year-old midfielder trained as a starter and could start the match against Atlético-PR.
By From the official website team - inReaching the professional level is always a dream come true for a player who started their career in Flamengo's youth academy. This is the case for Guilherme. The young midfielder gained the trust of coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo in recent days and has had a rapid rise in the Rubro-Negro's main squad.
Just over a week after his first training session with the senior team, he may already have the chance to start against Atlético-PR this Sunday (November 07.11th). Aware of the pressure he may face from the fans, he says he is used to it and believes that his passion for the club will also help.
"I love Flamengo, I've been here since I was little and I know what this club is all about. I have a contract until 2012. Flamengo opened doors for me and I'm very happy," he said.
The responsibility is great, but so is the boy's confidence. He knows the importance of this match for Flamengo in the championship and promises a lot of effort on the field if he is indeed selected as a starter.
"I understand the responsibility well, I'm experiencing this pressure along with them. Playing here comes with pressure from the moment you join the club. I'm with them and, if I get to play, I'll always give my best to help," he concluded.
