In the 36th round of the Brasileirão, Flamengo beat Ceará 2-1 on Tuesday night (30), at Maracanã. The Rubro-Negro's goals were scored by Gabi and Matheuzinho. It is worth noting that the Rubro-Negra Nation put on a show, showing up in force and supporting the team throughout the 90 minutes.
The game
Flamengo started the match strongly, and just two minutes in, they opened the scoring at the Maracanã! Diego dispossessed Fabinho, and the ball fell to Gabigol, who adjusted his body and slotted it past João Ricardo: 1-0. Flamengo continued to press Ceará in search of more goals. In the 12th minute, after a corner kick from Andreas, Gabi took a first-time shot, and the ball went wide.
In the 21st minute, Mengão mounted a classic counterattack. Andreas played a one-two with Gabi and passed to Bruno Henrique, who tapped it into the net. After consulting VAR, the referee flagged the number 27 for offside and disallowed the goal. In the closing stages of the first half, Matheuzinho raced down the right and crossed into the box. Gabi headed the ball firmly, and the ball hit the crossbar.
In stoppage time, Gabriel again exchanged passes with his opponent and struck a powerful shot from the edge of the box. The ball sailed dangerously close to the goalkeeper's left post. Rubro-Negro dominated the first half and almost went into halftime with a bigger lead.
At the start of the second half, Flamengo continued to pressure the Ceará team's attacking play, which struggled to get forward. In the 25th minute, Rick pounced on Hugo's rebound and leveled the score at 1-1.
Undeterred by the equalizer, the Red-Blacks continued their attacking efforts and were rewarded with a second goal. In the 33rd minute, Michael secured the ball on the right and crossed. Bruno Henrique challenged the defense, and the ball fell to Matheuzinho, who unleashed a powerful shot that put Mengão back in front: 2-1. In stoppage time, Michael launched a counterattack, passed the ball to the middle, Gabi set up a screen, and Andreas struck powerfully. João Ricardo made the save.
After the final whistle, the nation continued into the stadium and showed its full support for the red-and-black team, putting on a beautiful show at the Maracanã. What a crowd!
