In the second round of the Libertadores group stage, Flamengo beat Talleres-ARG 3-1 on Tuesday night (12), at Maracanã. Mengão's goals were scored by Gabi, from a penalty, and Everton Ribeiro (2). With the result, Mengão remains in sole leadership of Group H.

The game
The match started evenly, with both teams looking to attack. In the ninth minute, Gabi and Arrascaeta exchanged passes at the edge of the box, and the Uruguayan advanced and was brought down. The referee signaled a penalty. Gabigol stepped up to take the penalty and struck perfectly to open the scoring at the Maracanã stadium: 1-0.

After the goal, the red-and-black team continued to attack. In the 16th minute, Matheuzinho ran up the right and crossed into the box. Bruno Henrique rose above the defense, but headed over Herrera's goal. It didn't take long for Mengão to extend their lead!

In the 25th minute, Bruno Henrique advanced down the left, played the ball into the middle, the ball went past Arrascaeta, but Everton Ribeiro took it first from the edge of the box and found the corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance: 2-0. In stoppage time, Talleres reduced the deficit with Fértoli: 2-1.

Rubro-Negro returned in the second half looking to score a third. In the fifth minute, Arrascaeta delivered a beautiful backheel pass to Rodinei, who shot first time, but the defense cleared it for a corner.

In the 14th minute, Mengão extended their lead! Bruno Henrique provided a beautiful pass to Everton Ribeiro, who fired a first-time shot into Herrera's corner for his second goal of the match: 3-1.

In the closing stages of the match, striker Pedro, who replaced Gabigol, had two opportunities to score the fourth, but the goalkeeper managed to keep it out. In the final minutes, the Mais Querido managed to control the result and secured their second victory in the Libertadores. A red-and-black celebration at the Maracanã!

Next appointment
Rubro-Negro returns to the field next Sunday (17) to face São Paulo, at 16 pm, at Maracanã, for the second round of the Brasileirão.
