HISTORIC NIGHT! In the second half of the 21st round of the Brasileirão, Flamengo took no notice and thrashed Vitória 8-0 this Monday (25), at Maracanã. Samuel Lino (2), Pedro (3), Arrascaeta, Luiz Araújo and Bruno Henrique scored for Mengão. With the result, in addition to maintaining their lead at the top, Mengão also achieved the biggest rout in the Brazilian league's points-based era. 

Pedro also scored his hat trick, surpassing the 100-goal mark at Maracanã. Also noteworthy was Samuel Lino's stellar performance, who not only scored two goals but also provided crucial assists for goals in the match. The game

Flamengo started the match suffocating Vitória, and after just one minute, they opened the scoring at the Maracanã! Arrascaeta found Samuel Lino inside the box, he pulled it to his right foot and fired into the corner to beat Lucas Arcanjo: 1-0. This was the number 16's first goal with the Sacred Mantle. 

The game started off fiercely, and Mengão extended their lead shortly after. Saúl intercepted the goalkeeper's ball, passed it to Arrascaeta, who passed to Pedro. The center forward burst into the box and chipped the ball past Lucas Arcanjo: 2-0. It was the number 9's 89th goal at Maracanã, his XNUMXth for Flamengo.

Repeating the same pattern as the first half, Mengão scored the fourth goal just a minute into the second half. Luiz Araújo, who replaced Plata, switched the play to Samuel Lino, who found a beautiful pass for Pedro to control and tap in, scoring his second goal of the match: 4-0. 

Flamengo relentlessly attacked as soon as the ball started rolling again and scored their fifth goal shortly after. Varela delivered a perfect cross for Samuel Lino to head down. The ball grazed the goalkeeper and the post before going in: 5-0. 

Don't lose count! Samuel Lino made a beautiful run down the left, flicked the ball past Lucas Braga, and passed it to the center of the box. Pedro laid it off for Luiz Araújo to finish. The ball deflected off the defense before going in to find the back of the net for the sixth time at the Maracanã!  

The seventh goal came within minutes, coming from Pedro, who scored his hat trick. Samuel Lino passed to the number 9, who had the advantage over his marker, and with a powerful shot, he displaced Vitória's defenders and slotted the ball over Lucas Arcanjo. 

In the 35th minute, after consulting VAR, the referee handed Ramon a handball inside the box and awarded a penalty. Bruno Henrique stepped up to take the kick and put the ball in the net to seal the biggest rout in the history of the Brasileirão: 8-0.
