The game
The match began with Flamengo taking the initiative to attack, and the first good chance came in the first minute. Pedro received the ball in the box and shot across goal. The ball went just wide of the post. The red-and-black team exchanged passes in the attacking half and gave Botafogo few opportunities to play out from the back.

Finally, in the 12th minute, Flamengo opened the scoring at the Nilton Santos stadium! Varela received a pass on the right, challenged Barboza, and the ball fell to Samuel Lino, who shot towards goal. The ball deflected off Bastos, deceived the goalkeeper, and went into the corner: 1-0.

With the advantage, Flamengo continued to attack, controlling possession. When Botafogo went forward, they found it difficult to penetrate the Flamengo defense. In the 37th minute, Jorginho delivered a beautiful pass to Samuel Lino, who found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but his shot went wide.

In stoppage time, Flamengo extended their lead with a beautiful goal from Léo Pereira. A free kick just outside the box was taken by the defender with skill, placing it in the left corner of the goal. The goalkeeper jumped to try and parry the ball, but it went into the net: 2-0. Before halftime, the referee reviewed a VAR incident where Alexander Barboza pulled Pedro. As the defender was the last man, he ended up receiving a red card.

At the start of the second half, Flamengo extended their lead! Paquetá delivered a beautiful pass to Varela on the right, who crossed perfectly for Pedro to finish into the net: 3-0.

At nine minutes, Samuel Lino received the ball on the left, cut inside and took a shot. The ball went just wide of the post. Throughout the game, Flamengo continued to look for more goals in attack. Meanwhile, Botafogo, with one player less, adopted a more defensive posture and tried to counter-attack.

In the final stretch, Paquetá shot from the edge of the area and the goalkeeper made a good save to prevent Flamengo's fourth goal. The referee added six minutes of stoppage time and blew the final whistle, marking an excellent victory for Flamengo at the Nilton Santos stadium.
