Thursday night (11) was historic for a predestined goalscorer named Gabigol. In addition to opening the scoring (from a penalty) for the good victory against Bahia by 3-0 at Maraca, Gabriel Barbosa definitely made his mark in Flamengo's history by reaching the incredible mark of 100 goals with the Sacred Mantle, becoming the 19th highest scorer in the history of the Club, which will turn 126 years old next Monday (15). Michael and Andreas Pereira completed the red-black triumph. With the result, Mengão reached 57 points and occupies third place in the championship. It is worth noting that the match had three expulsions: two for Bahia and one for the red-black side.

The game
Flamengo started the match with much more possession than Bahia, which barely managed to break out of its own half. Flamengo exchanged passes in attack, looking for space to penetrate the box. In the 24th minute, Rodinei crossed from the right and Vitinho appeared free in the six-yard box, but headed wide.

Two minutes later, Thiago Maia sent Diego into the box, who controlled the ball and attempted a bicycle kick, but was blocked by the defender. The referee awarded a penalty for the touch on Conti's arm. Gabi stepped up to take the shot, displaced the goalkeeper, and scored his 100th goal for Flamengo: 1-0. The striker is Flamengo's top scorer this season with 30 goals, and has now become the 19th highest scorer in the club's history.

In the final minutes of the first half, Matheus Bahia committed a hard foul on Kenedy, earning a second yellow card and being sent off. The Mais Querido went into halftime with the lead.

Early in the second half, Flamengo nearly extended their lead. Bahia's defense cleared Rodinei's cross, leaving the ball to Andreas, who passed it to Thiago Maia, who fired a powerful shot from the edge of the box. Danilo Fernandes palmed it away for a corner. In the 12th minute, Flamengo scored their second! Vitinho burst into the box from the right and crossed for Michael, who slotted it into the empty net from the six-yard box: 2-0.

Following the match, Rossi and Diego were sent off for reckless play. The former elbowed the red-and-black number 10 in the face, who retaliated by grabbing the striker by the throat. After consulting VAR, the referee issued red cards to both players.

With extensive control, Flamengo moved the ball around in attack until, in the 43rd minute, they extended their lead even further. Andreas advanced freely through the middle, found space in the Bahia defense, and fired a low left-footed shot from the edge of the box. The ball went into the bottom left corner, giving the goalkeeper no chance: 3-0. The midfielder ended the match with a beautiful goal.
