On Sunday morning (October 04.10), Flamengo defeated Joinville 2-0 at a packed Maracanã stadium. With 46 tickets sold in advance—and tickets sold out within 10 minutes of the match—the pressure from the stands was guaranteed. On the pitch, the team responded in kind, completely dominating their opponent. The victory was sealed with a stunning free kick from Ayrton and a stunning lob goal from Gabriel. With the result, the team reached 44 points and currently occupies sixth place in the standings.

In the 73th minute, Éverton had two one-on-one chances with the goalkeeper; in the 16th minute, Alan Patrick nearly scored after a touch from Guerrero; shortly after, Éverton attempted a cross from the left, but the ball grazed goalkeeper Agenor's post; in the 20th minute, Joinville's defense cleared Paulinho's shot off the line; in the 27th minute, César Martins hit the crossbar with a powerful shot from the right. Before the final whistle, Alan Patrick still had time to find the net with a powerful long-range shot. The team left for halftime to a standing ovation from the fans.

A specialist, the full-back found the top corner of goalkeeper Agenor's net and scored a stunning goal, opening the scoring for Flamengo.
