In the 29th round of the Brasileirão, Flamengo beat Atlético-MG 1-0 on Saturday night (30), at Maracanã. Michael scored the goal for Mais Querido in the first half. With the result, Mengão reduced the gap to ten points in relation to the Minas Gerais team. It is worth mentioning that Renato Gaúcho's team has two games less than its opponent.

The game
The match began with Flamengo pressuring Atlético's attacking play. In the opening minutes, the match was quite tight, with numerous fouls being used to break up the play. In the 24th minute, Mengão opened the scoring! Arão passed the ball to Isla, who crossed into the box. Bruno Henrique headed it in, and Michael slotted it into the top corner past Everson: 1-0.

After the goal, Atlético came forward and started to have more possession of the ball, but the red-black team, which played with lower lines, managed to defend itself and went into the break with the advantage on the scoreboard.

In the second half, the game opened up, and Flamengo found more space to attack. The Minas Gerais team, when it did push forward, also threatened Diego Alves' goal. In the 20th minute, Everton Ribeiro took a shot from outside the box; the goalkeeper swatted it away, but the defense cleared it.

In stoppage time, Rodinei received the ball at the edge of the box, advanced, and fired a powerful shot. The ball hit the post. In the final minutes, the Mais Querido managed the result and secured a crucial victory at the Maracanã.

Next appointment
Rubro-Negro returns to the field next Tuesday (2) to face Athletico-PR, at 16 pm, at Arena da Baixada, in a delayed game of the fourth round of the Brasileirão.
