A Maracanã stadium overflowing with emotion like few others seen in history. Flamengo has mourned losses before. Geraldo, Figueiredo, Coutinho... names that wrote important chapters in our history and that, last Friday, were sadly joined by ten angels from our youth academy. Almost a week after the tragedy, the more than 50 fans who were in the stadium saw a team that felt the blow, donned black shorts in mourning, and fought on the field against one of its biggest rivals for something greater than qualifying for the Guanabara Cup final. However, football was cruel, and Flamengo ended up being defeated by Fluminense, missing out on the Guanabara Cup title. 

Neither team created much in the first half. The following 45 minutes were not what one expects from a classic match of this magnitude. The goalkeepers had little to do and could observe the celebration that the fans made at the 10-minute mark, singing the #Nossos10 song. The best – and only – chance for Flamengo was a header by Rhodolfo that the Fluminense goalkeeper, also named Rhodolfo, made a great save from.  

The second half, now that was a true Fla-Flu (Flamengo vs. Fluminense). The teams loosened up, fought for the ball, and looked for chances. Diego Alves stopped Fluminense. Rodolfo made a great save from a Gabriel Barbosa attack. It was a game with more chances, moments of excitement with the ball in play, and a battle of the fans singing.

Abel Braga brought on De Arrascaeta, Uribe, and Vitinho, replacing Everton Ribeiro, Bruno Henrique, and Diego. The game was fast-paced, but chances were few. When a draw seemed inevitable, Luciano got in front of Diego Alves and scored the winning goal for Fluminense. A terrible week ended for Flamengo, who now turn their attention to the Taça Rio next Sunday against Americano at the Maracanã, at 17 pm.
