With a goal in stoppage time, Flamengo draws with Athletico-PR in Curitiba

Playing away from home, in the 9th round of the Brasileirão, Flamengo sought a heroic draw with Athletico-PR by 1 to 1, on Sunday afternoon (16), at Ligga Arena, in Curitiba. Evertton Araújo, who came on in the second half, scored the red-black goal in stoppage time.
The game
The match began with both teams fighting for possession. Playing at home, Athletico took more initiative and exchanged passes in the attacking half. Gradually, Flamengo gained more possession and tried to attack through passing. In the 14th minute, Lorran controlled the ball, set it up with his left foot, and took a shot from outside the box, which the goalkeeper saved.
As time went on, the red-and-black team managed to tighten up their defense and made it difficult for the Paraná team to get the ball under control, which risked shots from outside the box. In the second half of the first half, the game became more evenly matched, with few chances created and intense competition for possession in midfield.
In the 42nd minute, Gerson took a shot from the edge of the box, but the ball went up and out for a goal kick. The teams went into the break with the score unchanged.
Less than a minute into the second half, Luiz Araújo received the ball on the right side of the box, shot it in, and the goalkeeper made a save. Five minutes in, Lorran received a pass in the box and shot, but the ball went wide.
In the 19th minute, Victor Hugo passed to Lorran at the edge of the box, whose cross-shot was saved by Léo Link. On the next play, Gabi, who had just come on for Lorran, found the net. However, after consulting VAR, the referee ruled the striker offside.
Looking for a goal, the Mais Querido continued to create opportunities up front. In the 25th minute, Gerson laid the ball off in the box, Victor Hugo shot, and the goalkeeper fell to make the save. In the final stretch, the game became very tight in midfield.
Then, in the 42nd minute, VAR called the referee to analyze a touch on David Luiz's arm inside the box. Daronco awarded the penalty. Fernandinho stepped up to take the penalty and scored Athletico's goal: 1-0.
Flamengo narrowly avoided equalizing in stoppage time. David Luiz took a corner kick into the box, and Pedro headed it firmly, but the goalkeeper made a great save. But in the final minute of stoppage time, Mengão equalized. Luiz Araújo took a corner kick into the box, and Evertton Araújo, a "Ninho native," headed it into the net, sealing a 1-1 draw in Curitiba.
