The game
Flamengo started the match by taking the initiative in their search for a goal and pressuring their opponents' possession, with Filipe Luís, Bruno Henrique, and Arrascaeta advancing down the left. In the 10th minute, Matheuzinho and Gabigol exchanged passes down the right to the goal line, and Vasco's defense conceded a corner. Andreas Pereira found Arão on the edge of the six-yard box from the corner kick. The midfielder delivered a perfect cross to Filipe Luís, who headed the ball into the net: 1-0 Flamengo.

In the second half, Vasco equalized in the fifth minute with Gabriel Pec, making it 1-1. Flamengo responded in the 11th minute with a Fabrício Bruno header that bounced just wide of the crossbar. And it was the Uruguayan who scored the winning goal for Mengão: in the 44th minute, the star player received the ball from Vitinho in midfield and fired a shot into the net from the middle of the field.
