With his usual goal-scoring instinct, Deivid wants to shine in 2011.
The striker says 2010 was the most difficult year of his career, but promises a comeback this season.

In the early hours of December 31, 2010, to January 1, 2011, Deivid knew that many things were changing. More than a year, it was time to leave the bad past behind and dream of a better future. After a season, as he himself says, "far below expectations" in his first six months at Flamengo, he believes he is on the right track to perform better in the year that has begun.
At Fenerbahçe, he got injured. He arrived at Flamengo mid-year after almost a whole year without playing. He fought, with grit, against the lack of rhythm and adaptation to Brazilian football. He scored some goals, but admits that he didn't play as expected. That was the past year for Deivid, who wants to turn the page for good starting next Sunday (January 09.01th), in the friendly against Londrina.
"It was the most difficult season of my career, yes, but life sometimes throws these kinds of tests. I have a lot of faith in myself this season. I'm performing well, I believe I'm in good physical shape, and I really want to help Flamengo win a title. Last year, I was well below par, but I want to make up for it this year, score goals, and achieve our objectives here," said the striker, who hopes Flamengo will also have a better year in 2011.
"We hope that Flamengo will be different this year. Now we're all starting together, from the beginning of the year, it's a different story. Hopefully we'll be prepared. There will be many challenges, four competitions, but we are confident. The trend is for us to perform better. I expect the team to be stronger this year, fighting for titles. I've always scored goals, always won titles, and I hope to do that here too," he explained.
Deivid took advantage of the press conference after training at Estádio do Café, in Londrina, to welcome Wanderley, the striker who had his first training session with Flamengo this Friday (07.01).
"Anyone who's at Flamengo has quality. If he's here, he's a good player. Nobody comes here without credentials. He'll have chances and we hope he does a good job, like he did at Prudente," he concluded.
