After a whole second half of pressure, when it seemed like nothing would work out, a penalty in the 44th minute did justice to the game. Flamengo struggled, but beat Coritiba in the 16th round of the Brazilian Championship, ending a painful three-match losing streak.
With the score of 2 to 1 (Berrío and Everton Ribeiro, from a penalty), the team now sleeps in third place, with 28 points. For the Brazilian Championship, the team returns to the field next Sunday (30), against Corinthians, in São Paulo. Before, Rubro-Negro faces Santos, for the Copa do Brasil, on Wednesday.
Before the match, the five-time champions of 1992 were honored on the field, hoisting the trophy to the delight of the fans at Ilha do Urubu. The players received a plaque from president Eduardo Bandeira de Mello.
The game
