Performance against Palmeiras

"I'm very happy to be here (at Resenha do Jogo), because it's a sign I've been doing a good job. I'm happy with my form; I've been improving in recent games, but the important thing is to help the team. I was able to regain my confidence and play with ease. I hope to continue like this so I can come back here more often."

Relationship with Tite

"His involvement in my development is clear. He's a coach who already knows me; I was called up frequently for four years when he was the coach of the Brazilian national team. My first call-up was in 2018, when I won the Copa América with him. In 2019, I performed well in that competition. He's a guy who has instilled confidence in me since his arrival, trying to keep me calm so I can do what I do best: my plays, dribbling, and assists, as happened in yesterday's game. I think I'm responding to what he expected."

About the second goal

"All goalkeepers tell us to be alert whenever we're given a free kick. David Luiz tells us to take it quickly, and that ball behind the defense is very difficult because Mike and Gustavo Gómez had moved up, creating space for me to drive in. I was fortunate to control it, controlled the ball very well, and had already prepared because I saw Arrascaeta coming in. He had already told me and Luiz this: when we brought the ball into the middle, we should look for him to drive in."
