Thursday (15) will be more than special for all Flamengo fans. Flamengo will complete 123 years of history and tradition, and the Nation will be able to celebrate together with the team, at Maracanã, in another commitment of the Brazilian Championship. The team led by Dorival Júnior will face Santos, at 17 pm, in a game valid for the 34th round of the national competition.
Flamengo currently sits third in the Brazilian Championship with 60 points. Flamengo returns to play at Maracanã after two away matches.

Hey, Professor!
On the eve of the match against Santos, coach Dorival Júnior gave a press conference and spoke about the confidence that the fans instill in the team when they fill the stands at the Maracanã.
"Just wearing a shirt like Flamengo's makes us prioritize the word 'motivation.' The confidence that Flamengo fans have given us is yet another example of what we need to achieve on the field. I think the fans believe in us, and we can't lack motivation on the pitch."
The coach also used the conversation with journalists to talk about the ups and downs that all the teams have experienced in the Championship, and assured them that the focus remains on winning the competition.
"There have been ups and downs, even with Palmeiras. They were the team that fluctuated the least. Until the game against São Paulo, we hadn't been fluctuating. In the game against Botafogo, we didn't have a great night, and we know we made mistakes. I want to, and continue to believe, that something can still change. We have to do our part and get our result."

Flamengo x Santos
Flamengo and Santos have faced each other 33 times in Rio de Janeiro in the history of the Brazilian Championship. Flamengo holds the advantage: 17 wins, nine draws, and nine losses.

After losing the first leg 2-1, Flamengo won 3-0 at the Maracanã and took the trophy. Zico, Leandro, and Adílio scored for Flamengo. The match also went down in history for having the largest attendance in the history of the Brazilian Championship: 155.253 fans.
This will be the 17th time Flamengo will play at home in this championship. As the home team, Mengão has accumulated 38 points (12 wins/2 draws/2 losses), scored 26 goals and conceded six.
With 12 goals, Flamengo is the team that has scored the most headed goals in this Brazilian Championship, alongside Palmeiras, Cruzeiro, and Atlético-PR.
