Commission is concerned with motivating Fla players

Emerson Buck explains that psychological work is also important for the red-blacks

It's clear that Flamengo's current form isn't pleasing the team's players or coaching staff. Fitness coach Emerson Buck gave a press conference last Monday and explained that everyone is highly motivated to turn the team around. Flamengo is currently in 14th place but is confident of a surge in the second half of the season to reclaim a spot among the top teams.

"What we need to do is get Flamengo back on track. The situation is uncomfortable for everyone, both for those already there and for the players who are coming in. The main work here is the mental, psychological aspect. Getting them to believe that they can do it, we can achieve a great goal. It's an excellent group, where unity reigns. It's tough when you come into the group trying to move up and the group is broken. But that doesn't happen at Flamengo; the friendship is very strong," he stated.

Buck also noted that physical work also depends on coaching and tactics. After all, a well-positioned team on the field wears out less.

"We need to get results. We saw an improvement in attitude. Tactically, the team was better. By pressing hard, the physical wear and tear is less. The team performed better physically, but there's still room for improvement. We'll work on improving the technical side, the tactical side, and the physical side," said the coach, who explained the coaching staff's analysis of the matches against Santos and Cruzeiro.

"Flamengo, since we arrived, we analyzed two games, Cruzeiro and Santos, and we saw a very good improvement in attitude, dedication, and commitment. In this last game, we saw an improvement in this sense, tactically, in commitment, in dedication, with a strong desire to win. Due to some details, the goal didn't come," he added.
