Companions dedicate victory to the Emperor

Adriano missed the derby against Vasco due to lower back pain.

While Flamengo's players lamented Adriano's absence from Sunday's (April 11.04) derby against Vasco, after the victory, the red-and-blacks dedicated their spot in the Taça Rio final to the Emperor. The game's hero, Vagner Love, made no secret of his desire to have his teammate back by his side in future matches.

The duo, known as Império do Amor, is inspired by the season. Together, they have scored 28 goals (16 from Love and 12 from Adriano).

"Let's hope Adriano comes back soon so we can form this duo in the Libertadores and State games, which will be decisive," said Vagner.

Defender Ronaldo Angelim dedicated the victory to the Emperor, and also praised the performance of his replacement, Bruno Mezenga.

"The victory is for Adriano. If he were here, with Love, he would help a lot. But we have to congratulate Mezenga, who also played really well. Let's focus on the Libertadores now and then think about Botafogo," he added.
