Flamengo is already on its way to Chile, where it will face Universidad Católica, on Wednesday (14), in a decisive round of the Copa Santander Libertadores da América. The red-black team needs a victory and, even without Emperor Adriano, the players are confident that they can return from Santiago with the victory.
\
\ For left-back Juan, there's no denying that \ Adriano's absence will be felt. However, the player assures that the group is strong enough to overcome it.
\
"Adriano is missed because of his quality. Our group has enough strength to make up for his absence, but it's always good to be able to count on him. Vagner Love has been making a difference and has our trust. Bruno Mezenga has also been important. It's best to wait for his recovery so he can play at 100% on Sunday. It's not good to sacrifice him, as he's a very strong player," he explained.
\
If the Emperor is not on the field, the Love Gunner will go all out against the Chileans. Goalkeeper and captain Bruno is counting on Vagner Love's goals to get the result the team and fans are hoping for.
\
"Adriano is missed. He can decide a match. We won't be counting on him, but we also have Vagner Love who is doing the job," he said.
\
\ Only victory matters – The match against Católica is decisive for Flamengo. Although the situation isn't yet so worrying from a mathematical standpoint, the Flamengo players are treating the match like a true championship final.
\
"It's a very complicated moment. A victory could help us a lot in terms of qualification, just as a defeat could practically take us out of the Libertadores. This game means a lot to Flamengo. If we win, we'll even have more confidence going into Sunday's match against Botafogo. We know we need the three points and we can't even think about drawing," added midfielder Willians, who was sent off in the first game against the Chileans.
\
Before taking the field this Wednesday, Flamengo will watch the leader of its group, Universidad de Chile, this Tuesday. "La U" faces Caracas, away from home, at 22:30 pm (Brasília time).
