Confidence in the offensive power of the full-backs
Leonardo Moura and Juan remain key players in the red-black squad

One has been at Gávea since 2005. The other arrived the following year. But since playing together, neither of them has lost their starting positions on the Flamengo team. Coaches have come and gone, roster and coaching staff changes have occurred, but Leonardo Moura and Juan remain intact at right and left back, respectively, for the Rubro-Negro.
There's no shortage of reasons for this. Just look at the stats of each player wearing the Sacred Mantle. Léo has played 279 games for the red-and-black team, scoring 37 goals, providing 51 assists, and winning five titles (three state titles, one Copa do Brasil, and one Brasileirão). Juan has the same number of titles, but with 229 games, 32 goals, and 62 assists.
"I think it's very difficult for another team to have full-backs like Leo and Juan. Normally, we see either a very good right-back or a very good left-back, but two at the same level and at such a high level is important. They are players of great quality and are certainly fundamental to Flamengo," explained coach Rogério Lourenço.
If it depends on the will of the full-backs, both will remain at Gávea for a long time, to build an even greater history with the mantle.
"I hope to stay here for a long time, and I believe Juan does too. We will continue to do everything we can to help Flamengo," he said.
Concern about the attack – While Leonardo Moura and Juan, together, have 113 assists and are considered excellent weapons for the red-and-black attack, Rogério Lourenço is still counting on the arrival of reinforcements to carry out the work of pushing the ball into the net. The coach is confident in the renewal of Vagner Love, praises youngsters Diego Maurício and Paulo Sérgio, but expects signings to further enhance the performance.
"The area that worries us most is the attack, without a doubt, not only in terms of quality but also quantity. We have a shortage of players. Only Diego, who is young, and Paulo Sérgio, who ended up getting this opportunity. It's definitely the area with the greatest need, and our priority is to keep Vagner Love," Rogério concluded.
