Welinton, Fabrício and David are praised by their teammates, despite their youth

For the second half of the year, Flamengo has already confirmed four defenders in its squad: David, Welinton, Fabrício, and Ronaldo Angelim. The first three, however, are young players: 23, 21, and 20 years old, respectively. Therefore, Angelim, who, at 34, was already a hero in the Brazilian championship and is considered an idol by the Flamengo fans, has the defensive experience.
Confident that he can help his younger teammates this season, Angelim reveals that he often talks to the other players and is betting on the trio's success in the future.
"I try to instill confidence in them and guide them. They are great athletes and will bring a lot of joy to Flamengo," he said.
Coach Rogério Lourenço is another confident in the abilities of his defenders. He says they're all capable of playing for Flamengo's first team.
"David and Angelim are my central defensive duo, but Fabrício and Welinton also have a lot of quality," said the coach, who despite this, believes the team still needs another defender to complete the squad.
