Despite his young age, Mauricio Barbieri, 36, has extensive experience working both in athlete development and with professional teams. Beginning his career at Audax-SP, Mauricio coached the São Paulo team's under-15, under-17, and under-20 teams, eventually being promoted to assistant coach of the main squad.

This journey led to Mauricio's hiring by Audax-RJ as the team's professional coach. At the helm of the Rio de Janeiro team, he was one of the key players in securing promotion to the state's first division. Before joining Rubro-Negro, he also had stints at Red Bull Brasil, Guarani, and Desportivo Brasil, all in the interior of São Paulo.

The assistant coach joins Mais Querido's permanent coaching staff starting this Tuesday and commented on this new challenge in his career, talking about his expectations for the current season.

"They're the best possible. I'm joining a giant club that has been restructured significantly in recent years and done excellent work. Being able to work alongside Professor Carpegiani is immensely satisfying. He's someone with a wealth of knowledge and experience. I'll try to learn a lot from him and contribute in the best way possible to help Flamengo emerge victorious in every competition," Mauricio projected.

Another professional arriving at Flamengo is goalkeeping coach Rogério Maia. Having played for the Brazilian Olympic and senior national teams, as well as experience working for national and international clubs, Rogério will seek to further elevate the performance of Flamengo's goalkeepers.

Previously, the coach worked with Gabriel Batista, Thiago, César, and Hugo Souza, who currently represent Manto Sagrado in the São Paulo Junior Cup. Despite playing in a different position, defender Juan is another player on the Mais Querido roster with whom the coach has worked, this time during his time at Internacional-RS.

In addition to his experience with already-formed players, having worked with younger players for so long provides him with valuable insights into the crucial transition from youth to professional goalkeepers. Rogério commented on the key precautions that must be taken during this process.

"It's crucial to respect each player's individuality, their profiles, and their history. It's necessary for them to gradually grow, to improve physically, technically, and especially emotionally, which is crucial for goalkeeper development. These are fundamental components for us to do a good job and reap the rewards in the future," he analyzed.

Upon seeing the structure of the new professional module at the George Helal Training Center, the trainer was full of praise as he recalled his visit to Ninho do Urubu two years ago.

"I was here in 2015 watching some Flamengo training sessions with the Brazilian national team, and then came back two and a half years later and was amazed. What they did with the facilities, the pitch, and the reception is fantastic. The club grows a lot because of this, and its greatness becomes even more expressive," Rogério praised.

Both professionals participated in the coordination of pre-season activities in the afternoon, which took place on Field 4 of the CT.
