Flamengo needs a combination of results to advance to the next stage of the Copa Santander Libertadores. First, the red-and-blacks need to do their homework and beat Caracas next Wednesday at 21:50 PM at the Maracanã. And coach Andrade wants not only a victory but also a good goal difference.
To achieve this goal, the coach relies on two reinforcements: the return of Adriano and the presence of the fans.
"Getting a balance will be very important. With all due respect to Caracas, we know it won't be easy, but we're going for it and we can't miss any opportunities. We have Adriano back, the fans behind us, and that could be crucial to securing our spot," he said.
Before the decisive duel against the Venezuelans, however, Andrade's men have another final to play: the Taça Rio final against Botafogo on Sunday. And the coach hopes the Libertadores defeat won't dampen the team's motivation for the derby.
"I know the fans will demand it, but the team is aware that it can achieve better results. Of course, no one is happy, but we are aware that we have to overcome this so that it doesn't interfere with Sunday's game," he added.
