Correa: "It's a game of affirmation for us"
Midfielder believes that a victory against Fluminense would put Flamengo back in the fight for the top positions

A victory over Fluminense is, in theory, worth the same three points as against any opponent. However, psychologically, a positive result against a rival leading the competition could earn Flamengo much more. That's what experienced midfielder Correa thinks. In an exclusive interview with the club's official website, the number 7 spoke about the derby, which he considers one of the greatest in world football.
"A classic says it all: it involves many things. I've already faced Vasco here for Flamengo and I know that Fla vs. Flu is among the greatest classics in Brazilian and world football. We're ready for this new challenge. It's going to be difficult, hard-fought, but we're going after the three points," he said.
The midfielder believes this is Flamengo's moment to assert itself in the competition. After ending a seven-game losing streak, the team defeated Grêmio Prudente and now aims to secure its second consecutive victory.
"It's a game of affirmation for us. We won the last game and now we need another win to continue our winning streak. We have to respect Fluminense, but our goal is to leave the field with the victory," said the defender, who doesn't believe either side is the favorite for this Sunday's game.
"It's important to have positive numbers, but on the field, everything is equal. These are great teams. Flu has a great squad, a great coach, and we're looking to put together a string of good results to move beyond the comfort zone and continue to grow in the competition," he concluded.
