"It's out, isn't it? Good thing." Correa's statement upon being informed that his name is already included in the Brazilian Football Confederation's (CBF) Daily Information Bulletin (BID) shows the midfielder's motivation to make his debut as soon as possible with the Flamengo shirt in the Brasileirão. Signed on loan from Dynamo Kyiv, from Ukraine, Correa was already on loan to Atlético Mineiro and, therefore, his transfer is national, which gives him the conditions to play to face Atlético Goianiense, Sunday (18.07), at 16 pm, at Serra Dourada.
Correa arrived at Flamengo even during the days the group spent in Itu, in the interior of São Paulo, and since then he has been training hard to get on the field as soon as he is regularized. Against Botafogo, he was unable to play, but against the Goiás team, the expectation is that he will even start.
"I'm ready. I've been training for two weeks now, and I was already expecting to play against Botafogo, but I gained two or three days of work. Now that I'm officially cleared, it's time to get going," said the player, who explained the roles he can play on the team.
"My role is as a defensive midfielder, but I can play either further back or further forward. The important thing is that the work is being done well, the momentum is good, and the team has gained morale with the victory in the derby. But we need a run of form because our goal is to be in the top positions," he revealed.
Aware that he will face a motivated opponent fighting to leave the bottom of the table, Correa predicts a tough match at Serra Dourada and doesn't hide the butterflies in his stomach before his first official match in a Flamengo shirt.
"You feel this in any debut. In fact, in every game. When you stop feeling that chill, it's time to stop playing. Especially when wearing a Flamengo shirt. The responsibility is huge, and the chill will be there. But when the game starts, I'll loosen up and try to help my teammates on the field," he added.
