One of Flamengo's key signings so far this offseason, midfielder Corrêa is practically ready to play. The player arrived in Itu last Wednesday (July 30.07) and, since then, has been doing separate physical training to be fit for the team's return to the Brasileirão against Botafogo on July 14. Before that, next Wednesday, when he will have completed exactly one week with Flamengo, the player is expected to participate in the training match against Ituano at the Spa Sports Resort.

The player, who plays both as a second and third midfielder, arrived at Flamengo with the support of executive director of football Zico and has already played four games for Atlético Mineiro in the Brazilian Championship. His physical condition isn't far below the group's level, so he's planning on playing against Ituano.

"I can't say I'm 100%, but these days have been very productive. I hope to be able to participate in the match against Ituano," said the player, who reaffirmed his happiness at wearing the red-and-black shirt.

"I'm very happy. I was very well received and the work is being done well so that everything will work out in the future," he said.

Regarding the unexpected 1-1 draw against Desportivo Brasil in the training match last Sunday (04.05), Corrêa believes that the stumble happened at the right time.

"We're here to make mistakes and get things right, and of course, to correct mistakes when we notice them. Of course, the important thing is to always win, but sometimes a setback like this can help us adjust some things," he added.
