Midfielder Correa earned a starting spot at Flamengo as soon as he arrived at Gávea in the middle of the year. He ended up on the bench for the match against Fluminense last Sunday (September 19th), but is expected to return to the starting eleven for Wednesday's (September 22nd) game against Grêmio at the Olímpico stadium.

With Willians suspended, the number 7 will take over the starting position as the second defensive midfielder for Flamengo. Aware that his teammate is one of the key players in the current squad, he sees the task as a great responsibility, but says he is ready to help.

"There's not much difference. Of course, we have some slightly different characteristics, but I'm used to playing this second defensive midfielder role, marking up in the middle of the field, and I hope to help the team leave the Olímpico with a victory," said the player, who guaranteed he was 100% fit, despite having left the Gávea pitch on Monday (September 20.09th) with ankle pain.

"I'm fine. It was just a scare, but nothing that will hinder me. I trained normally today and I'll be 100% ready for the match," he stated.

Anticipating a very difficult match against Grêmio, Correa knows that the team will have to work very hard to achieve victory.

"It's going to be a very difficult game, like all the games in the Brazilian Championship, but we're sure we can achieve a positive result. We need another victory and we're going after it in Porto Alegre," he added.
