Correa wants victory against his former club

Midfielder says he had good times at Galo, but now victory against the miners, on Thursday, is his goal

If Atlético Mineiro has Vanderlei Luxemburgo, a former player and coach of Flamengo, in command, and in attack Diego Tardelli and Obina, who even played together in the Gávea team, Rubro-Negro also has an athlete who knows next Thursday's opponent (26.08) well. Midfielder Correa defended Galo in his last stint in Brazilian football and is motivated to meet the Belo Horizonte team again.

The player had some good times at Alvinegro, but now wearing the Flamengo shirt, he wants to do his best to honor the sacred mantle and seek another victory in the Brasileirão.

"I had a great time with Atlético, I really identified with the club, and my time there was great. But I'm going to try to do everything I can to help Flamengo get a win. I'm here now, and we need a win," he said.

A victory against Correa's former club could leave Flamengo in a better position in the championship and also bring the fans behind the team at a crucial moment in the competition. That's the midfielder's view.

"The championship is approaching a final stretch, the teams that will fight for the top positions, those that will stay in the middle and those that will fight to avoid relegation will be defined and we want to defend the title," he concluded.
