Coach Cristóvão Borges approached the defeat to Fluminense, in the classic this Sunday (31.05), but is already thinking about Wednesday's game (03.06), against Cruzeiro, in Belo Horizonte. For the coach, Flamengo needs to keep working to do what the fans want: "play well, win and with the commitment they showed".

Time
"We're in a time of recovery. We're all upset about losing, and we don't like losing. Now, the team did well in the game. The fact that we conceded a goal early in the game and early in the second half... It made things more difficult. We had more difficulties. Then, Fluminense, with ten men down, started playing on our mistakes. They're a quality team, they have good transitions. We didn't know how to take advantage of the time to at least equalize. We struggled; the game had to be played at both ends of the field. It's a difficult time, and the pressure is immense; the most important thing is to get a win. It hasn't happened yet. We'll work hard, and it's time to withstand pressure, criticism, and questions. We're confident and know the team's potential. The commitment was sensational. But of course, the team could have made the most of the time they had with an extra man. It's difficult. We wanted to win today, but it didn't happen. It's the next match. We want to change that soon. We share the same sentiment as the fans. The fans want what we want: to play well, to win, and with the commitment they showed." We will reach the moment of giving joy and pride to the fans.

Little time
"The anxiety to get out of this situation is immense. Just like on Wednesday, what satisfies us is seeing the players willing to overcome this adverse situation. Sometimes it's a bit of a hindrance. But it's a willingness, a commitment that must be recognized. I couldn't make many changes, time was short, and I couldn't make changes without training. We made few changes, talked a lot about the situation, and tried to instill confidence. That's how we work for today."

Changes in the classic and for Wednesday
"Cirino was coming back from an injury, and that's why he didn't start, as he was recovering and had only trained with the ball for three days. He and Everton, at a better pace, were returning. We talked and thought it best if he stayed for the second half. Regarding the next game, we lost some players, and others are going to the Copa América. We have to think a little. There are no complaints. We have to find a solution. We knew Fluminense would wait for us. But they scored a goal four minutes in, they played waiting, due to our mistake, and we gave them that opportunity a few times. You can't give them that kind of chance, and we did."

Guerrero
"We all know him. He'll be a great addition. A top-notch reinforcement who will certainly bring joy to Flamengo fans."

Improvement in the next games
"It's our reality. We're short on time, needing a result, a victory... We haven't won yet. That's what has to change. We're not complaining about it, no. It's a fact. We'll try to work to control this kind of situation. The players' behavior is quite positive. We're not satisfied with the defeat."

Training
"When we choose a squad to play, we have to find the best in the group. Almost every club will have some kind of need. We have to try to unleash their potential. And even with that, without a player with top-notch qualities, we find ways to make this team play at its best. That's what we've been trying to do."
